Colorado, Yes!
I'm eager to reach Colorado and say goodbye to New Mexico, at the same time I've wanted to enjoy and appreciate these last days in this state. I want to continue to strive to be in the moment and not be in a rush to get to the next town, next state. It has such a wild beauty and harshness about it yet that's tempered by the random spring, flowers, birds and creatures that thrive here. And the people are great. Having said that, we caught up with our friends right before the state line and got to celebrate. That was pretty awesome! Pounce observed that the first thing we saw in was cactus and the first thing we see in CO is water. There's so much water! No more 4 liter carries for awhile. Then we hiked the purple route on the south side of the mountain (no snow) to Cumbres Pass. We got a hitch right away to Chama, NM, found lodging, ate, and celebrated. Woo hoo! Our ride -
